Dr. McIntyre’s Letter to Her Patients
December 13, 2021
Dear Providers, Staff, Community, and Patients,
It has been my pleasure and privilege to be a provider in Kitsap County for more than 25 years. I have enjoyed the many relationships I have built, not only with my patients, but also with my staff and the medical community.
It is so hard to put into words how much immense joy and fulfillment I have received in my work. Who knew that the decision made so long ago would lead me to such a happy career?
There is a new chapter in my life soon to begin. It is time for me to step back from medicine and enjoy the simpler things in life. I look forward to spending more time with family and friends, and to less stressful times. It is with sadness but also excitement that I am announcing my retirement from Kitsap OBGYN, effective February 25, 2022.
I will miss the many conversations and relationships I have fostered over these many years. It has truly been a joy to have cared for so many of you in this community. It has been such a pleasure personally to have been a part of so many pregnancies and births. I will walk away with many fond memories.
We have an excellent group of providers at Kitsap OBGYN who will take over care of my cherished patients. Drs. Jennifer Quimby, Katherine Hebard, Amity Marriott, and Aaron Swenson as well as Lori Nelson ARNP and Melanie Jensen ARNP CNM are there for you all. My last day of doing Obstetrics was August 31, 2021. After nearly 30 years of sleepless nights, it is time to enjoy the quieter moments in life.
I look forward to seeing you all in the community, as I have no plans to leave Kitsap County. Thank you for an incredible 25+ years. I have enjoyed it immensely.
All my best,
Anita Alvestad-McIntyre, MD
